LOVE YOURSELF. LOVE THE WORLD!

What the world needs now is love--and who better than Todd Parr to share a message of kindness, charity, and acceptance. Touching upon themes including self-esteem, environmentalism, and respect for others, Todd uses his signature silly and accessible style to encourage readers to show love for themselves and all the people, places, and things they encounter.

I have been teaching K4 for five years at my current school. I enjoy finding new ways to help my students learn, and love to help them celebrate their successes, big or small, every day. Working in a low income school is both rewarding and challenging. Each day is an adventure, and I encourage my students to try their hardest, be kind and thoughtful towards one another, and support their classmates. I have created a learning environment where my students feel safe and are comfortable asking questions and participating. My third grade teacher was my inspiration to become a teacher, and my hope is to inspire my students to be the best they can be every day.

My class is amazing, and very big this year! I have 8 girls and 11 very active boys that are 4 and 5 years old. They love to read and get very excited when new books are added to the classroom library. Most of my students come from under privileged homes and have very few books to read outside of school. Four of my students speak another language besides English for their primary language.
